It’s all about ME

Hello There...

      My name’s Deini Marini. I have so many nick names..My family calls me “Ende”, my collegues call me “Dini or Dhei”, My best friends from high school calls me “dido”, and my friends from college calls me “Dede”. But in formal situation, I prefer to be called “Ibu or Miss Dini”.
       I am the youngest children in my family. I have two brothers -my eldest brother had passed away when I was still in kindergarten- and five sisters. My father was a teacher. He was retired in 1996 and my mother is a housewife.

       My occupation is an English teacher. This is the work that I dreamed of since I was in high school. I want to continue my daddy’s spirit-giving something useful for our surrounding.

I started teaching in 1998. My teaching experience started in an English Course around Slipi. After that, I tried new experience. Teaching at school. Actually I never thought to teach in any school. But one day (in 2003), I applied to Foreign Affair Department as an English teacher. I was interviewed and took some tests. Luckily, I passed. I am one of the two candidates who got the job. In fact, after finished the tests, the committee told us that we were not going to teach in the Department itself, but we were  sent to the school under the foundation of that Department. OMG, we were very surprised at that time. But we would not miss the chance, so we took the job and since that time, me and my friend were officially had a new job – an English teacher at Senior High School. Fortunately, it was such an interesting moment to be at that school. It was nice to be with high school students. And up to now, I enjoy being with them. In 2004, I was offered another new challenge. Teaching at Trisakti University. It was my best friend who informed me about the vacancy. I hesitated at that time since I had no experience teaching adult and this university is one of famous universities in Indonesia. But my family and my best friends fully supported me to send the application. Finally, I did it and I got the job. It’s all because ALLAH SWT who always gives me a challenging and interesting experience in my life. Since that time up to now, I still teach there. I don’t want to leave this job although I am only part-time lecturer. Not all person can’t have the chance like this.  In 2005, I move to new school. I moved to one of the best schools in Jakarta. Since that time, I dedicated my thought,knowledge, time, energy for these two companies. School and University. I really enjoy being at there. I like the people I work with and also the experience that I got. Hopefully, I can be full timer in one of the companies I work now.

       I am a simple-minded person. I don't like to think hard about something. I just do and I enjoy the things that I have to do or want to do. In my spare time, I really like to see a movie. When I was still single, I always go out with my friends to malls in Jakarta or Bogor. But now, I do that thing with my husband. Oh, let me tell you a lil’ bit about him. His name is Muhammad Susila Adhy, or Adhy for short. He works in Bintang Pelajar. It is an Islamic education institution. We got married in 2009 but have no children already. Some of our friends thought that we do a program to delay the pregnancy because we are so busy with the activities from the office. In fact, it’s BIG NO. We really want to have a baby in our home. Just wish us the best, okay?! Well, besides going to cinema, we like to spend our leisure time to go to book stores. These are the two things that we have in common. Reading and seeing movies. For other things, we just like two sides of the coins-very different. He doesn't like listening to the music, but I do. He doesn’t like pizza, but I like it a lot. And many others.

But we try to enjoy the time we spend together, no matter if we have different preferences about something.

Besides going to cinema, my favorite activities in leisure time are reading novel, magazine while listening to the music in my bedroom. I like R n B, Rock, Pop, and Religious Songs. I really miss that moment nowadays because I still don't have time to do it. Hope I can get the relaxing time soon....
